This course is part of our intermediate mountain bike progression courses.
Step up your riding and get confidently introduced to black-graded trails in Dalby Forest. Intro to Black is designed for riders who are comfortable on red trails and are ready to experience the added technical challenge, speed, and commitment that black trails bring.
With one of our qualified and experienced instructors, you’ll be guided onto selected, black-graded trail features appropriate to the group. The session focuses on building confidence, improving technique, and understanding how to approach steeper, rougher, and more technical terrain safely. Expect coaching on line choice, body position, braking, and trail awareness, with plenty of opportunities to stop, session features, and progress at your own pace.
What to Expect:
• A 2.5-hour coached and guided ride in Dalby Forest
• Introduction to black-graded trail features
• Coaching on technical riding skills and trail management
• Supportive, confidence-building progression at your pace
Course Details:
• Location: Low Dalby
• Group Size: Maximum 4 riders per instructor (1:4 ratio)
• Eligibility: Open to riders aged 14 and above (parent-accompanied if under
18)
• Dates: A range of options available
• Level: Intermediate riders progressing from red to black trails
Prerequisites:
A well-maintained mountain bike suitable for black-graded trails, a helmet,
gloves, drinks, snacks, and prior experience riding red-graded trails with
confidence. A positive mindset and willingness to be coached are essential.
Important Information:
Please plan your journey to arrive at the meeting location at least 15 minutes before the course starts. Instructors will wait up to five minutes past the scheduled start time, so punctuality is essential.
