BICYCLE HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Team Cycles (North East) Limited
1. Identification and Booking Confirmation
You must bring valid government-issued photo identification (e.g. driving licence or passport) that matches the booking confirmation email. Failure to provide valid ID may result in refusal of hire without refund.
2. Hire Agreement
By entering into this agreement, you agree to hire the bicycle and any associated accessories (together, the “Equipment”), to pay the cost of hire, and to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
3. Responsibility for Equipment
You accept full responsibility for the Equipment for the duration of the hire period, including safeguarding against loss, theft, or damage, ensuring it is securely locked when unattended, and returning it by the agreed date and time.
4. Reporting Incidents
You must immediately notify Team Cycles (North East) Limited of any loss, theft, damage, or accident involving the Equipment. Theft or accidents must also be reported to the police and a reference number provided.
5. Payment
The total cost of hire must be paid before the hire period begins. Additional charges such as late returns, repairs, replacements, or insurance excess may be deducted from the payment card.
6. Acknowledgment of Risk and Personal Responsibility
You acknowledge that cycling carries inherent risks. You are responsible for assessing your own health, fitness, experience, and ability to cycle safely, including consideration of any medical conditions, disabilities, medication, or eyesight requirements. Team Cycles does not provide medical advice.
You must not ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may impair your ability to cycle safely.
Team Cycles reserves the right to refuse or terminate hire where use of the Equipment would present a clear and immediate safety risk.
7. Safety Requirements
Helmet use is strongly recommended. Appropriate safety equipment and clothing should be worn. Lights must be used in reduced visibility. You must comply with the UK Highway Code and ride responsibly.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Team Cycles shall not be liable for loss, damage, injury, or death arising from use of the Equipment, except where liability cannot be excluded. Liability is limited to the cost of hire.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Team Cycles against liabilities, costs, damages, or losses arising from your hire or use of the Equipment.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
