Hire Terms and Conditions

Hire Bikes

1.        The hirer is fully responsible for their actions whilst using the hire bike. Alpkit do not accept responsibility for the actions of the participant nor the consequences of such actions. 

2.        The hirer is responsible for providing their own insurance protection while using a hire bike. Any accident or injury caused by the hirer’s actions will be the full responsibility of said hirer. 

3.        The hirer will be fully responsible for any fees or costs incurred or arising from an accident either involving or caused by the hirer. 

4.        The hirer agrees that they are physically and mentally capable of riding the hire bike. 

5.        The hirer must be a person aged 18 years or over. Evidence of age may be requested. 

6.        Alpkit is not responsible for mechanical failures caused during the hire such as punctures or broken chains. The hirer takes full responsibility for carrying out trail repairs and will have the necessary skills, tools, and equipment necessary to complete their ride.

7.        It is strongly recommended that riders of bikes hired from us wear a cycle helmet at all times. Alpkit reserve the right to refuse hire bike use to anyone with inappropriate equipment or clothing. Alpkit is not responsible for damage to clothing and/or personal items. 

8.        The hirer agrees to return the bike to the hire bike staff. Failure to return the bike will result in Alpkit recovering the full retail value of the bike from the hirer. 

9.        The hirer is responsible for any negligent damage caused to the bike. The cost of any damage caused (over and above standard wear and tear) will be recovered from the hirer.

10.  Photo ID must be provided before the hire bike(s) will be released to the hirer. Only nationally recognised forms of ID will be accepted i.e. Photo driving license and passport. This will be kept in a secure location for the duration of the hire period.

11.  Late return of the hire bike or damage to the hire bike that will effect the experience of subsequent hires will be charged at £10.

Hire Bouldering Mats

1.        The hirer is fully responsible for their actions whilst using the hire bouldering mat. Alpkit do not accept responsibility for the actions of the participant nor the consequences of such actions. 

2.        The hirer is responsible for providing their own insurance protection while using a hire bouldering mat. Any accident or injury caused by the hirer’s actions will be the full responsibility of said hirer. 

3.        The hirer will be fully responsible for any fees or costs incurred or arising from an accident either involving or caused by the hirer. 

4.        The hirer agrees that they are physically and mentally capable of using the hire bouldering mat. 

5.        The hirer must be a person aged 18 years or over. Evidence of age may be requested. 

6.        Alpkit is not responsible for the safety of the hirer. The hirer must climb in a responsible manner, within their ability and be aware of the environment around them.

7.        Alpkit is not responsible for damage to clothing and/or personal items. 

8.        The hirer agrees to return the bouldering mat to the hire staff. Failure to return the bouldering mat will result in Alpkit recovering the full retail value of the bouldering mat from the hirer.

2.        The hirer is responsible for providing their own insurance protection while using hire bike luggage. Any accident or injury caused by the hirer’s actions will be the full responsibility of said hirer. 

3.        The hirer will be fully responsible for any fees or costs incurred or arising from an accident either involving or caused by the hirer. 

4.        The hirer agrees that they are physically and mentally capable of using the hire bike luggage.
