By accepting the terms and conditions of rental, the
customer warrants that they are aged 18 years or over and have the express
authority of all persons using the rented equipment to agree to these terms on
their behalf.
Cycling, and particularly mountain biking, carry inherent
risks and, in the interests of safety, the customer agrees:
- That they are fit and healthy and have no medical reason not
to engage in cycling (including pregnancy)
- To wear appropriate protective equipment (particularly a
suitable helmet and gloves) at all times
- To ride within their ability, taking into account the
conditions
- Not to attempt to ride on sections of trail which are
steeper or more than technical than they have the experience and skills to
negotiate safely
- Not to attempt jumps, drops, to race or to ride close to
steep edges or cliffs
- Not to ride the bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- To respect the Highway Code and Country Code including
stopping and dismounting where appropriate and notably not to ride on (yellow
signposted) footpaths
- To ride with care and to slow down when passing walkers,
horses and other bike riders
- To apply common sense and pay attention to signage when
following GPS guided routes
- To stop riding their rental bike and contact Southern Ebike
Rentals if they should observe any problem with the equipment that may
compromise its safe use
The customer accepts responsibility for their rented
equipment and their actions and to pay for the loss or any damage to the bike
or other rented equipment (at normal retail value) during the course of the
rental that exceeds normal wear and tear.
For the avoidance of doubt, "wear and tear"
constitutes punctures and light wear to tyres, brake pads, grips and saddles
and does not include damaged frames, buckled wheels, bent rims, pierced
saddles, rust resulting from leaving the bike outside overnight and broken
spokes, derailleurs, chainrings, gear triggers, brake levers or damage to any
other component or accessory.
The customer authorises Southern Ebike Rentals to debit the
rider's payment card for all eventual costs in case of damage to the rental
equipment during the rental period, comprehensive of labour. In case of theft,
the rider will be responsible for reimbursing Southern Ebike Rentals for the
original price of the e-Bike(s), plus the cost of any accessories that were
lost at the time of the bike rental.
The customer agrees not to hold Southern Ebike Rentals
Limited (or its shareholders, directors or employees) responsible in the event
of death, injury or damage caused during the rental unless this occurs as a
direct result of gross negligence on the part of Southern Ebike Rentals or
their staff.
Riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The rental equipment will only be released on provision of
passport or driving licence, the booking confirmation and processing of a
pre-authorisation deposit.
Southern Ebike Rentals reserves the right to substitute your
booked equipment with alternative equipment of a similar standard.
Bookings may be postponed by the customer up to 7 days before the booking is due to begin. Bookings may be postponed a day in advance or on the day of the booking in the event of bad weather such as heavy and persistent rain or high winds (as opposed to typical British weather). Payments are non-refundable unless specifically agreed at the time of booking.
Southern Ebike Rentals reserve the right to cancel your
rental without refund if you have entered your height incorrectly and the
equipment booked is unsuitable.
Late return of rental equipment will result in a surcharge
based on normal rental rates (i.e. minimum half day surcharge)
