River Riders Ltd: E-bike rental Terms & Conditions
1. Children under 16 years of age are not permitted to rent our e-bikes unless accompanied by their parents or legal guardian at all times.
2. Renters under 18 years of age must have this form signed by their parent or legal guardian who accepts all responsibility and liability on behalf of the renter.
3. The renter acknowledges and agrees that they will be the only person who rides the e-bike.
4. River Riders Ltd. may refuse rental or terminate the rental while underway if in our sole opinion the renter cannot control the e-bike. The renter acknowledges that in the event of early termination of the rental under this clause that they are not entitled to any refund or other compensation.
5. The renter plus any carry luggage must not exceed 120 kg per e-bike.
6. The renter accepts liability for damage to or loss of or repair of the e-bike or of other provided equipment.
7. The renter agrees not to take the e-bike off formed cycle ways and paved roads. If evidence of off road cycling use is found the renter may be liable for a cleaning charge of NZ$30.
8. The renter agrees not to go into water deeper than 7cm, or just above the ground level tyre rim.
9. The renter agrees not to ride the e-bike in any saltwater or sand whatsoever.
10. The renter will ensure the e-bike is not left unattended or unsecured at any time.
11. Loss of the e-bike or of other provided equipment will incur a charge of the current replacement Recommended Retail Price to the renter.
12. The renter will return the e-bike at the agreed time. The renter agrees to pay any additional hourly costs incurred if the trip goes over time when returning bikes to River Riders Ltd.
13. The renter has been briefed regarding Health & Safety and the functions of the e-bike by our authorised staff.
14. The renter must comply with all New Zealand traffic laws including but not limited to; Wearing a helmet when riding the e-bike; Riding on the left side of the road or on a cycle-way; Obeying all road signs and traffic signals; having blood alcohol lower than 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.
15. The renter agrees to notify our staff immediately of any accident, incident, theft or damage. If holding the e-bike overnight, the renter will ensure it is kept in a safe, secure and dry place.

Indemnity Waiver:
The renter acknowledges and agrees that River Riders Ltd. has no control over the operation of the e-bike by the renter.
River Riders Ltd. assumes no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, third party liability or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any wrongful, negligent or accidental acts or omissions on the part of the renter; any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by the renter; any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any other party not under the control, direct or otherwise, of River Riders Ltd.
The renter indemnifies River Riders Ltd., its agents and employees from and against any and all liability arising during the rental period.
The renter acknowledges that they are aware of the risks involved with cycling including but not limited to physical exertion, forces of nature, accidents, travel via any mode of transport, adequacy of medical facilities, or negligence on the part of employees, agents or others of River Riders Ltd.
The renter agrees to be responsible for their own welfare and accept any and all risk associated with the activities they undertake.
The renter acknowledges and agrees River Riders Ltd. has the right to refuse a rental for not executing this document or other required documentation correctly.
Cancellation Policy:
We understand that circumstances beyond your control may arise, and we strive to provide flexibility for our customers. Please take note of our cancellation policy outlined below:
In the event of unfavourable weather conditions or personal reasons that prevent you from riding on your booked day, we offer the option to postpone your booking to a later date in the future. Please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a new date for your e-bike rental.
Cancellations made with a notice period of 72 hours or more prior to the scheduled rental date will be eligible for a refund of 80% of the total rental fee.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled rental date will not be eligible for a refund.
For group booking larger than 20 people, cancellations need to be made 30 days prior to the booking, incurring a 20% cancellation fee. If large group bookings are not cancelled within this period you will not be eligible for a refund.
