Terms and conditions

General information

These terms and conditions are part of the agreement between Sports Island Mallorca SLU (N.I.F. B16662231) trade as "Bike Island Mallorca" and the tenant. They agree as follows:
The tenant must be older than 18 years.
The tenant must provide a valid photo ID (passport, personal ID or driving licence) plus a credit card for a security deposit at collection.
Bike Island reserves the right to not fulfil and cancel the booking.
Bike Island will NEVER share customer's personal information to the third parties.

Collection and return

The bike rental starts on the first day of the reservation from 9:00. Bikes can be collected in our shop in Port de Pollensa from our opening hour earliest at 9:00. IMPORTANT: On the last day the bike must be returned latest by 17:00. If the bike is not returned until 17:00, Bike Island Mallorca will charge one day extra in full amount according to the price list. In case the bike is already reserved Bike Island Mallorca has the right to charge what is the loss of the following reservation.

Refund is not possible for early returns.

We do not offer a 24 hour rental.

Each bicycle is build with weight limit for rider. The tenant is required to ask for those limits and Bike Island Mallorca must provide them. Bike Island Mallorca is not responsible for the weight of the rider. Bike Island Mallorca has not the right to ask or check the weight of the rider. In case of any damage of bicycle or components, the tenant will be required to pay full amount for it. The tenant will receive bike and accessories in good technical conditions, safe for the ride and cleaned. The tenant is required to check this before leaving the shop. Bike Island Mallorca does not accept later complaint.

The total rental cost must be paid in advance.

Bike and accessories must be returned in the same condition. Bike should not be used for surface and environment for which is not built for.
Otherwise Bike Island Mallorca has right to obtain extra 10 € charge for cleaning.

Delivery and pick-up

For rentals with a minimum of 3 days we offer a delivery and pick-up service to your accommodation. The price depends on the location we will deliver the bike to. The minimum charge is 20 € for one way plus 1 € per kilometre. We do not offer deliveries to hotels in Port de Pollenca. If you are staying in Port de Pollenca we kindly ask you to pick up the bike personally from our shop. If you wish to have your bike delivered, please use the message box at the end of your online booking. Please write a comment with the name of your hotel, the exact address or the GPS coordinates of your accommodation. The delivery is valid only after you receive an email from our side with a confirmation of the delivery time. In case you have not heard back from us or you did not receive the confirmation email the delivery is not confirmed. You are of course always welcome to call us. In high season we can not promise that a delivery is possible. The delivery can be requested minimally 15 days in advance before the first day of your reservation (without exception). We recommend you to consult the location of your accommodation first, especially if you are accommodated farther than 25km from Port de Pollenca or in case that you are accommodated in the historical centre of Pollenca, Alcudia or Palma and other oldtowns, as we don’t have permission to enter few specific locations by car.

The delivery time is always an approximate time as it depends on the traffic and various circumstances. We ask you to have your mobile on hand and in case we will arrive earlier or later we will call you. We will do our best to arrive on time.
The driver is starting at 9:00 from Port de Pollenca and there are scheduled more deliveries every day. Therefore we kindly ask for your patience in case we are late, as well the time and the technical assistance we can spend with customers is limited.

Cancellation

Cancellation more than 1 month before the rent we return 100% as a voucher for the next reservation.
Cancellation less than 1 month before the rent, we return 50% as a voucher for the next reservation.
Cancellation less than 7 days before the rent, we do not provide any refund or compensation.

We highly recommend you to demand the refund from your travel insurance. For this we can provide a document that confirms your cancellation.

Responsibility

The tenant can rent more bikes and accessories (for partner, friends, family...), but only tenant is fully responsible for all rented bikes and accessories.
Bike Island Mallorca is not responsible for any damage, loss and theft caused by the tenant to the third parties before, during and after rental period. Also, the Bike Island Mallorca does not accept any damage, loss and theft caused by the third parties to the tenant before, during and after rental period.
The tenant is responsible for observing traffic law and wearing cycling helmet.

Damage of bikes

The tenant is required to inform Bike Island Mallorca about any damages, loss or theft of rented bikes and accessories. Tenant will be required to pay full amount for this. The tenant will receive invoice for it (It is possible to obtain this amount back from personal insurance if exists).
Bike Island Mallorca has right to keep credit or debit card details for case of any damages founded after return. Bike Island Mallorca has also right to charge this amount on tenant's credit or debit card or obtain another type of payment. Tenant will be informed with details of damage and total amount charge.

Damage cover fee

The damage cover fee provided by Bike Island Mallorca applies only to rented bicycles and accessories. The damage cover fee does not cover theft or loss of the bicycle. The damage cover fee does not cover damage caused during the participation in races. The damage cover fee does not cover damage caused to the client or third parties on health and property before, during and after the term. The participation is 150 € for each bicycle.

Recommendation

It is strongly recommended, that tenant will take good care about rented bikes and accessories and will protect them from destruction, loss or theft.
It is strongly recommended, that tenant will keep ID, mobile phone (fully charged) and insurance documents all the time during the rides.
Is also recommended to keep another person (partner, family, friends...) informed about route plans and expected time of return.

Other

This contract complies with Spanish law. Tenant agrees that this contract is binding on tenant's family, tenant's heirs, permitted assigns
and administrators and executors. The place of jurisdiction or law applicable to this contract is that only of Mallorca.
By payment for rented products customer accept these terms and conditions.
Those terms and conditions also apply, when customer take the bike for test ride before renting.
