Conditions of E-bike Use:

E-bikes are loaned on the following basis:

1. Registered E-Bike Users will reside within the town of Callander, or within a 5 mile radius.
2. Registered E-Bike Users must provide proof of identity and address when picking up the E-bike (e.g., driving licence/current utility/council tax bill)
3. Registered E-Bike Users must be 18 or over.
4. CCDT reserves the right to remove the E-bikes from service if required (for example, for maintenance). CCDT also reserves the right to cancel bookings if required (for example, extremes of weather, particularly freezing temperatures, ice, and snow)
5. Each booking is for 7 days, 14 days, 21 days or 28 days.
6. Each booking will be for one E-bike per resident of Callander.
7. E-bike users must read the <link to USER GUIDE> and undertake an induction session before using an E-bike.
8. E-bike users can book an E-bike for a maximum of 28 days at a time. CCDT reserves the right to limit bookings to members to ensure fair usage.
9. Bikes should be used within a 20-mile radius of Callander.
10. Bikes should not be loaded onto/into vehicles to transport to other locations (unless agreed with the CCDT team, for example – to recover an E-bike).
11. Under UK law, it is illegal for children under 14 to ride an E-bike.
12. The E-bike must be secured to a fixed item with the lock(s) provided when unaccompanied.
13. The E-bike must be stored and locked under cover when not in use (overnight etc.)
14. A helmet and hi-vis clothing are strongly advised when using the E-bike.
15. The E-bike must be returned to CCDT and suitably charged (>80%, 4 of 5 bars) and ready for the next member to use.

17. E-bike users should always consult with their doctor before beginning any type of exercise or physical activity.
18. E-bike users should make appropriate assessments of the weather, terrain, and routes chosen to minimise and avoid needing external assistance where possible.
19. Callander Community Development Trust has insured the E-bikes for theft when locked with a secure lock to a permanent structure. The registered E-bike user is responsible for theft if the E-bike is not appropriately secured.
20. The registered E-bike User is responsible for any accident or damage that may result from using the E-bike.
